ABOUT THE SHOW:
Robbie McCauley, Obie Award winning playwright and professor of performing arts at Emerson College, will perform her one-woman show titled SUGAR, directed by Marueen Shea, music by Chauncey Moore. A 90-minute show inspired by her life-long struggle with diabetes, SUGAR is meant to break the silence surrounding the diabetes epidemic in the U.S. and encourage discussion about food, disease, and disparities in health care for marginalized groups.
McCauley was a member of the original Broadway cast of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf and is the Rev. J. Donald Monan, S.J. Visting Professor in Theatre Arts for the 2013-14 Spring Semester. More information about Prof. McCauley can be found here.
