Biography

Based in Boston, Cristina Todesco is a scenic designer working in both theater and film. On stage, she has designed with Actor's Shakespeare Project, ART Institute, Boston Playwrights, Boston College, Boston Conservatory, The Boston Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall and Tanglewood, Boston University, Company One, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Gloucester Stage, Harbor Stage, Harvard University, Huntington Theatre Company, Israeli Stage, Lyric Stage, Merrimack Repertory Theater, New Repertory Theater, Olney Theater Center, Orfeo Group, The Poet's Theater, Speakeasy Stage Company, Stoneham Theater, Suffolk University, Summer Play Festival, Trinity Rep, Wheelock Family Theater, Williamstown Theater Festival, among others.  She is the recipient of four Eliot Norton Awards, an IRNE Award for Outstanding Design and the Lois Roach Award for outstanding commitment to the Boston theater community.

As a scenic artist, Ms. Todesco has worked on over 30 feature films, including The Crucible, The Spanish Prisoner, State and Main, The Perfect Storm, The Brotherhood, Underdog, 21, Pink Panther 2, The Box, The Departed, Gone Baby Gone, Zookeeper, and The Equalizer. Most recently she worked as an Assistant Art Director and set designer on the feature film Black Mass. 

She worked as the charge scenic artist in the 1990’s at VDA, the Event Design Group, during which time she managed projects for installations and clients that include “Waterfall” for L.L Bean, Freeport, ME, “Bourbon Street” for Jordan’s Furniture, Natick, MA,  the nationwide interactive traveling installation for the Boston Children’s Museum “Arthur, the World Tour," and the permanent installation, “The Woods” at the Cincinnati Children’s Museum. She currently teaches at Boston College and Boston University and is a member of USA Local 829.
