Associate Professor Dr. Luke Jorgensen '91 is honored with AATE’s (the American Alliance for Theatre and Education) 2019 Orlin Corey Award for 25 years of Artistic Excellence.
The Orlin Corey Award for Artistic Excellence honors a particular artistic achievement or a unique artistic contribution to theatre for young audiences. It can be presented at any time in an artist’s career including, but not limited to, directors, designers, actors, choreographers, composers, puppeteers and videographers. It is named in honor of Orlin Corey, who directed and produced many plays for young audiences and led the Everyman Players to productions off-Broadway, around the USA and the world.
The AATE Awards honor exceptional individuals as well as organizations for the high quality work they perform in the field of theatre with and for young audiences. Recipients represent the best of our field and inspire others with the outstanding work, commitment, and dedication that make us proud to count them among our colleagues and allies. The AATE Awards are presented annually at the National Conference.
