Research by BC Sociology Faculty, Graduate Students, and Alum Included in New IPCC Report

Research by Dr. Andrew Jorgenson, Dr. Julie Schor, current PhD Student Xiaorui Huang, and BC alum Dr. Jared Fitzgerald is cited in multiple chapters of the new Sixth Assessment Report by Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The report, titled “Climate Change 2022: Mitigation of Climate Change”, provides an updated global assessment of climate change mitigation progress and pledges, and examines the sources of global emissions. It explains developments in emission reduction and mitigation efforts, assessing the impact of national climate pledges in relation to long-term emissions goals.
