The requirements for the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience now allow students more flexibility in course selection. Specifically, students now have to complete only one course in each of the Cognitive Neuroscience and Systems Neuroscience clusters, though the Electives requirement is increased by two courses. Additionally, the restriction on the number of courses from other departments that can be used toward the Elective requirement has been removed. Many students planning on graduate careers in health fields will be able to count more of their required natural science courses toward the Electives requirement.
Finally, during the 2020-2021 academic year only, any 3000+ PSYC courses may be counted toward the Electives requirement. These changes should make course selection more flexible, and less stressful, for students majoring in Neuroscience, as well as their peers majoring in Psychology who take many of the same classes.
