

Johanna Alden is a PhD student in English at Boston College. She completed her BA at Purdue University in 2013, and her Master's in Humanities at the University of Chicago in 2021. Johanna’s interests center on texts from the medieval North Atlantic, particularly the literatures of medieval England, and Ireland, and on different literary texts' figurations of gender, transness, the nonhuman, and tranimality. Her textual interests include riddles, prosimetrum, sagas, and late medieval travelogs, and she is the author of the article 'Dramatic Spectacle in LaƷamon: The Brut's Direct Speeches, Aestheticized Violence, and Gendered Historical Reenactments'.
