Biography

Mobina Beheshti is a postdoctoral researcher working in engineering education at Boston College under the supervision of Professor Avneet Hira. She works on projects humanizing engineering and design practices, utilizing technology for learning support, and exploring engineering in informal, often low-resource, settings. Passionate about enhancing educational experiences, she investigates how technology can be leveraged to support and enrich the learning journey, particularly in the field of engineering. She collaborates with a diverse range of educators, from middle school to undergraduate levels. Before joining Boston College, Dr. Beheshti served as an assistant professor for two years in the Department of Software Engineering at Final International University in Cyprus.

She completed her master's studies in Information Systems and then Information and Communication Technology in Education right after receiving her bachelor's diploma in Information Technology from Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus. Subsequently, she pursued a Ph.D. in Computer Education and Instructional Technology at Near East University in Cyprus and graduated in 2019. Dr. Beheshti’s doctoral research mainly focused on flipped-based learning and infographics. She conducted a study titled “Assessing Perceptions and Evaluating Achievements of ESL Students with the Usage of Infographics in a Flipped Classroom Learning Environment” under the supervision of Prof. Huseyin Bicen.
