Geochronology, Deformation, Metamorphism
I am a geochemist interested in the use of geochronology and petrology to understand the processes, mechanisms, and timing of metamorphism and orogenesis. My current research interests are in the relationship between deformation, metamorphism, and plate motion during the Himalayan Orogeny in Northern Pakistan. This involves dating garnet porphyroblasts using the Sm-Nd system that have a well-constrained structural significance. These data will help to elucidate the various phases of deformation in the NW Himalaya, and provide an opportunity for the integration of deformation and metamorphic histories along the length of the Himalayan Orogen.
