Chris McHugh began teaching part-time at Boston College in Fall 2016. He graduated from BC in 1982 with a degree in Economics. He completed a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. His main field was Labor Economics. He worked in sundry consulting, research and part-time teaching positions. Since the mid-1990s, he has been an executive, with multiple roles, at an small investment management company (aka, hedge fund) which specializes in bankrupt and distressed securities. He continued to teach part-time, primarily courses in monetary and macroeconomics, at a variety of colleges and universities, including Tufts University. He has extensive personal investing experience including futures and options. He has three children and enjoys golf, travel and attending cultural events.
