Mock Trial
Julie Buszuwski is the Attorney in Charge of the Framingham Trial Office for the Committee for Public Counsel Services. She has been a public defender at CPCS her entire legal career representing indigent clients accused of serious felonies since 2003 in Suffolk, Essex, Worcester, and Middlesex Counties. She is on the statewide murder counsel appointment list and is a past cochair of MCLE's “Handling Sexual Assault Cases” seminar.
Buszuwski is a graduate of Boston College (B.A. Political Science) and Suffolk University Law School, and she completed the Trial Practice Institute at the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia. She is the editor of and a contributing author for Trying Sex Offense Cases in Massachusetts, (Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, 3rd Edition 2017, with 2020 & 2022 Supplements). She is also a contributing author to Trying Murder and Other Homicide Cases in Massachusetts (Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, 4th Edition 2021).
Along with Steve Van Dyke, Buszuwski is co-coach of the Boston College Law School Mock Trial team. The team qualified for the National Trial Competition hosted by Texas Young Lawyers Association and American College of Trial Lawyers for the first time in over 20 years in 2024. This is the preeminent law school mock trial competition in the country, and the BC Law team successfully made it to the semi-finals in Houston.
