In this series, we highlight BC MBA students’ summer internships, featuring their firsthand accounts of navigating internships across various industries and roles.

This summer, Tanya Zhidkova (MBA ’25) is interning as an innovation  manager at Novo Nordisk in Cambridge, MA.

How did you secure your internship?

Tanya Zhidkova: First, I tried to attend around two networking events  every week during the regular school year. Then, I had the opportunity to attend Novo Nordisk’s corporate networking event in Cambridge in October 2023, where I was introduced to their team members. After this initial meeting, I engaged in a discussion with my direct supervisor and proceeded to apply for a summer internship position within the organization. Following a one-round interview, I was offered to join the company’s Bio Innovation Hub as an innovation manager.

How has the first year of your BC MBA prepared you for your internship?

TZ: The Managing People & Organizations class has been helping me with project management and keeping alignment within the big organization. In addition, the Marketing class has improved my perception of new project conception from a customer’s point of view. Finally, the Operations Management class has been instrumental in organizing my workflow while juggling multiple tasks.

What do you hope to gain from your internship?

TZ: Cultivate valuable networks and pursue potential career opportunities to support the translation of science to healthcare solutions changing patients’ and their families’ lives for the better.
