John Glover is the Programs and Land Stewardship Branch Chief for USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, which is the largest private lands conservation agency in the federal government. Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and later a Master of Public Administration from American University, he has served for public interest in USDA for almost 20 years. His work primarily focuses on the conservation easement programs administered by USDA NRCS, which aims to protect, restore and enhance wetlands, grasslands, forestland, as well as farms and ranches. He has taken on multiple roles within the Natural Resources Conservation Service and demonstrated strong leadership in administering program budget and operation. In 2009, he was appointed as Branch Chief to his current position and has been serving this role for more than 11 years. He has developed and maintained national policies for monitoring, management and enforcement of the agency’s more than 21,000 conservation easement parcels.
