Getting involved in campus activities is an important connections between you and the greater campus community. It is important to know what organizations and opportunities are available for you once you arrive on campus. The following is a list of some of our largest AHANA and cultural student groups:
African
Students Organization (ASO)
ASO is dedicated to spreading the African culture and tradition to the Boston
College community.
AHANA Leadership Council (ALC)
The ALC provides a voice for students of color at Boston College through
forums, discussions, rallies, and other events.
Armenian
Club
The Armenian Club promotes awareness of Armenian culture, history, language,
and religion.
Asian Baptist Student
Koinonia (ABSK)
ABSK or Asian Baptist Student Koinonia is about living a higher-dimensional
Christian life. Through Bible Studies, exploring Boston, playing sports, or
hanging out, we learn about God, life and each other.
Asian Business Society
The Asian Business Society (ABS) is a student-run organization aimed at promoting
professional growth at Boston College through deeper understanding of relevant
issues in business in Asia and among those within the Asian community in the
U.S.
Asian Caucus
The Asian Caucus is an umbrella organization that encompasses six Asian societies:
the Chinese Students Association, Japan Club of Boston College, Korean Student
Association, Philippines Society of Boston College, Southeast Asian Student
Association and Vietnamese Students Association—each of which sponsors
educational lectures, socials and cultural events. Apart from the six societies,
the Caucus also has its own agenda regarding political and social issues of
concern to Asian-Americans.

Asian Christian Fellowship (ACF) is a spiritual community founded upon
seeking Jesus and reaching out to non-Christians.
Black Campus Ministry
Focuses on God and the spiritual growth of BC and is deeply rooted in the African-American
experience.

Student Forum
Black Student Forum is committed to addressing the cultural, political, intellectual,
and social needs of the black community and to simultaneously sharing our revelations
with the Boston College community at large.

College NAACP
BC's chapter of anational civil rights organization dedicated to the uplifting
and empowerment of communities and/or people of color politically, intellectually,
and economically.
Brazilian Club
The Brazilian Club is a student organization committed to sharing Brazil
and its culture with the Boston College campus.
Cape Verdean Student Association
The Cape Verdean Student Association is a student organization committed
to sharing Cape Verde and its culture with the Boston College campus.
Caribbean Culture Club
The Caribbean Culture Club is the forum for members to express the common bond
that all students of West Indian Background share.
Casa Hispánica
Chinese Students' Association
The goal of the Chinese Student Association is to promote the Chinese culture
through a variety of cultural and social events not just to the Chinese population,
but also to the greater Boston community.
Cuban
American Students Association
Club seeks to provide events to uplift the Latino community and to educate
BC students on Cuban issues and culture.
Hawaii
Club
The Hawaii Club promotes Hawaiian culture and heritage to the Boston College
community.
Hellenic Society of Boston College
As one of BC's oldest clubs it's purpose is to promote Hellenism to all members
of the community who are interested in Greek food, music, dancing, and history.
Hillel
The Hillel of Boston College helps to serve the social, cultural and religious
needs of the small but active cadre of Jewish students who attend BC as well
as inform the rest of BC what it means to be Jewish.
India Club
Intervarsity Christian Fellowship
Interdenominational multiethnic student ministry.
Irish Society
The purpose of the Irish Society of Boston College is to preserve, promote,
enjoy and actively participate in the traditions, heritage and cultural activities
of Irish Ancestry on the Boston College campus.
Jamaican
Association
The Jamaican Association aims to educate the Boston College community on the
rich culture and history of the Jamaican people and about the island itself.
The Japan Club of Boston College
This society of the Asian Caucus also is a founding member of the East Coast
Japan America League, an active network of Japanese cultural clubs at a number
of local universities.
Korean Students Association
(KSA)
KSA is a group of Korean-American students who strive to promote their culture
and educate the BC community of the political and historical issues that shape
Korean culture.
L'Association
Haitienne De Boston College
This organization is committed to build on the current Haitian community
at Boston College.
Martin Luther King Jr. Student Activism Coalition
The mission of this organization is keep students informed about events
affecting the African-American community and communities of color as a whole.
Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies
Student Association
Academic organization serving as the student-run branch of the Middle Eastern
and Islamic Studies Interdisciplinary Minor.
Minority Association
of Pre-Health Students
This organization fosters growth and education of minorities who are interested
in the health professions.
Minority Engineers
A pre-professional organization whose mission is to diversify the technical
industry as well as other industries in corporate America.
Multiracial Club of Boston College (MCBC)
MCBC provides a space for multiracial students and those interested in mixed
race issues.
Muslim Students Association
The Muslim Student Association spreads Islamic awareness.
National Association of Black Accountants (NABA)
NABA is a professional organization that fosters the growth and awareness
of opportunities for minorities interested in Accounting and other business
related professions.
Organization of Latin American Affairs (OLAA)
O.L.A.A.'s main objectives are to nurture and support the needs and desires
of the Latino population of Boston College. Cultural events aimed at informing
and increasing awareness of the contributions of Latinos throughout the world
are sponsored by the Organization of Latin American Affairs.
Philippine Society (PSBC)
PSBC is dedicated to promoting and sharing Filipino and Filipino-American
culture.
Project
2000
This students initiated outreach program provides tutors and role models
for students from the John Marshall Elementary School in Boston and, in so doing,
help address the rising high school dropout rate among urban minorities by striking
the problem at its roots—at the fourth and fifth grade levels, when many
begin to lose interest in school. The schoolchildren attend Saturday sessions
at Boston College that include tutorials, group discussions, and cultural and
recreational activities. BC undergraduates from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
volunteer to participate in the program.
South Asian Students Association (SASA)
Previously known as the Indian Students Association, SASA is a student led group
that represents the countries of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri
Lanka. The purpose of the organization is to provide Boston College students
(undergraduate and graduate) and faculty who are of South Asian descent, or
those interested in South Asia, with an environment where they can meet, learn
and participate in cultural events with others of the same interest.
Southeast Asian Students Association
(SEASA)
Members SEASA come together to represent and share Southeast Asian culture
with the Boston College community.
Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UGBC)
Within the UGBC, the AHANA Department works to strengthen the relationship among
various AHANA culture-specific groups, as well as to create greater multicultural
awareness on campus through retreats, lectures and other special events.
Vietnamese Students Association
(VNSA)
The VNSA branch of the Asian Caucus offers ethnic dinners, cultural cafes, informative
speakers and a Culture Night (in conjunction with the Asian Caucus), to foster
an understanding and appreciation of the Vietnamese culture. VNSA also participates—with
six other Boston-area universities in the Massachusetts Vietnamese Student Association—in
organizing and hosting a TET (Vietnamese New Year) Festival in the spring, intercollegiate
dances throughout the year, and other intercultural events on various campuses.
Voices
of Imani
This BC choir group performs on campus and represents the university at churches
and other schools, in the Boston area and beyond. Performances celebrate the
viability, potency and beauty of religious and concert music with a predominant
focus on the music of people of color.
